Diane Frances Schmidt

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diane Frances Schmidt of Warrington, who departed this life on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the tender age of 64.  Born in Germantown, she was the cherished daughter of the late Victor Cristea and Frances Loop.  

Dianes’s professional journey saw her dedicatedly serving at Pilling Surgical Instruments, Pine Run Village Senior Living and Tecomet Medical Devices before gracefully retiring.  Her commitment to excellence forged countless friendships throughout her workplaces.

Beyond her career, Diane found profound joy in her familial roles as a beloved sister, aunt, great aunt and devoted partner to Tom Cupo.  Her infectious smile radiated brightest amidst the company of loved ones, especially her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

An enthusiast of the outdoors, Diane relished leisurely walks, tending to her garden and embarking on family vacations.  Her affinity for all creatures, great and small, was evident in her fondness for cuddling dogs and cats, whom she considered part of her extended family.

Diane’s departure leaves an irreplaceable void in countless hearts.  She will be deeply missed by her devoted partner Tom Cupo, her sister Sue McCollum and husband Pat McCollum, her brothers Dan Cristea and wife Holly Cristea, Jim Cristea and his husband Mark Marchesi.  She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews - Tim and wife Lauren McCollum, Ryan and wife Jaci McCollum, Shawn McCollum, Jennifer Cristea, Kelli and husband Chris Gough, and Christopher and wife Jazmyne Cristea, as well as her great nieces and nephews - Lily McCollm, Kasey McCollum, Abbie Gough, Sammy Cristea and Arabella Cristea.  Let us not forget her cherished feline and canine companions.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her brother Chris Cristea, his wife Jane and her step-father Fred Loop, alongside many beloved pets.

A celebration of Diane’s life will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Schneider Funeral Home, 431 North York Road, Hatboro, PA, with visitation from 10-11 am and her Memorial Service will start at 11 am. Her interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to your favorite animal rescue organization, or Habitat for Humanity, in honor of Diane.
