Dorothy F. O'Donnell, of Fort Washington, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Southampton Estates. She was 85. Born in Philadelphia, she was the only daughter of the late Joseph A. and Ruth M. (nee Magill) O'Donnell.
Dorothy was an English teacher with the Philadelphia School District. She was an avid bird watcher, card player, reader, and traveler. Dorothy drove all over the United States and visited many of our nation’s great national parks. She loved dogs. Dorothy was once a Sheltie breeder, and she belonged to the Suburban Dog Training Club, where she was a long time member, instructor, and board member.
Dorothy is survived by her sister-in-law, Kathleen B. O’Donnell; her nieces, Maureen Burke (Dan), Julie Doyle (Jason), and Maris Toporowski (Ron); her great nieces, Madeline Toporowski and Elena Doyle; and great nephew, Ryan Toporowski. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Philip and Joseph O’Donnell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Fort Washington Estates, 735 Susquehanna Rd, Fort Washington, PA 19034. Her interment will be held privately.
