Sara Nelan Obituary

Sara Ann Nelan passed away on April 24, 2019 at home.  She was 85 years old.  She was the beloved wife of Richard Nelan with whom she had shared 49 years of marriage.  She was born in Millville, NJ and the daughter of the late Russell and Evelyn Bird. 

After graduating from Millville High School, Ann worked various jobs until she settled at Prudential Insurance Company where she met Richard.  Ann was a Girl Scout leader and a lifelong Phillies fan.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, and embroidery.  She was a ready conversationalist who never met a stranger.

In addition to her husband, Ann is survived by two sisters, Mary DiPalma and Joan Horton; 3 daughters, Sheila Olds and her husband, Todd, Mary Savage and her husband David Jr., and Rita Morton.  Ann also leaves behind 7 grandchildren: David III, Morgan, Tara, Joseph, Erin, Abby and Maura.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday, April 29th, from 6-8pm in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro and to attend her funeral mass on Tuesday, April 30th at 11:00 am in St. John Bosco Church, 215 E. County Line Road, Hatboro, PA. Sara’s interment will be Wednesday, May 1st at 10:00 am in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA
