Albert R. Bahner of Hatboro passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the age of 98. He was the beloved husband of the late Clara L. Bahner with whom he had shared 58 years of marriage. He was born in Shamokin, Pa a son of the late Charles and Lydia (Raker) Bahner.
Albert was a World War II and Korean War veteran who received a battlefield commission and went on to retire as a Major after 20 years of service in the Army. He received numerous Military Decorations including a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. Following his retirement from the service he went on to work many years for the Fidelity Bank. Albert liked to travel. He enjoyed gardening and all types of yard work, keeping his property in pristine shape. Albert was a grandfather figure to all the children in the neighborhood.
Albert is survived by his children, Carol Bamford and her husband William, Robert and his wife Barbara, Barbara Owens and Alan Bahner, five grandchildren, Katherine Bamford, Christopher Bamford and his wife MaCall and Brett Owens and his wife Katie, Nicole Huskey and her husband Kyle and Kristel Bahner and seven great grandchildren, AJ and Clara Chonofsky, Oakley, MaCllen, Delaney and Rohan Bamford and Jaxon Owens. Albert was preceded in death by a son Charles Bahner.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions Albert’s Graveside Service and Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Albert’s name to Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
