Alexander Laird Obituary

Alexander F. Laird of New York City,  was raised in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, died on May 1, 2021 at Mount Sinai Community Hospital in Oceanside, New York.  Alex was 67 years old.  He was the beloved partner of Dan Feinman, loving brother of  Christopher Laird, and devoted son of the late William W. Laird and Frances E. Laird.

Alex was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then resided with his family in Hatboro since the age of  4.  Alex was a graduate of Upper Moreland High School and graduated from Tyler School of Art with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art.  He was a visual merchandiser who owned his own visual display company, Concepts Visualized for over forty years.  As the owner of Concepts Visualized, Alex worked with individual retail stores and malls within the tri-state area.  He created the ideas for his displays and saw those ideas to their completion.  Alex began his visual merchandising career at Wanamakers in Philadelphia and when he moved to New York, he worked for Macy’s prior to starting his own window display business through Concepts Visualized.  Alex brought his keen visual eye, infectious personality and incredible talent to his work.  He was a loving partner, brother, son, cousin, and friend.

Alex is survived by his partner, Dan Feinman, his brother Christopher Laird, and cousins from the Philadephia area, Canada and Ireland. A graveside service will be held at a later date, facilitated by Schneider Funeral Home.  Family and friends will be apprised of the specifics of the graveside service when it occurs.  Alex will be laid to rest at  Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the General Scholarship Fund at Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University. Gifts may be made Tyler Art School at Temple University, or checks may be made payable to Tyler School of Art and Architecture and mailed to: Temple University, PO Box 827651, Philadelphia, PA 19182-7651
