Alice Spencer Obituary

Alice E. Spencer (née Kennedy), of Hatboro, passed away on February 1, 2026, in
Neshaminy Manor, Warrington, with her husband and son at her side. She was 80 years
old. Alice was the beloved and devoted wife of Bob Spencer, with whom she had shared
52 years of marriage. She was born in Abington, a daughter of the late Francis P.
Kennedy and Frances (Connolly) Kennedy.
Alice grew up in Elkins Park and always held fond memories of her childhood on Rock
Lane with her parents and two older sisters, Franny and Helen.
She married Bob in 1973, becoming a second mother to his children, Debbie, Dave, and
Mark. In 1976, she and Bob bought the house on Diane Avenue in Hatboro where they
would spend the next 50 years together. That same year, they gave birth to their son,
Rob.
Alice was, and will always be, Grandmom to her and Bob’s ten grandchildren, Great
Grandmom to their nine great grandchildren. And she will be remembered by them as a
steady source of love, care, and sweetness, of Christmas and birthday presents, of
cookies, fudge, and candy, and of an ever-present interest in their lives.
She was also a beloved aunt, “Aunt Al”, to 12 nieces and nephews and their families,
including children and grandchildren. She loved getting together with this extended
family for any reason—birthdays, weddings, showers, baptisms, Easter egg
hunts…—and she attended every one of those she could.
Alice graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School, in Wyncote. She worked in
Customer Service for 28 years at the Fischer & Porter company in Warminster, and for
16 years served as a Secretary in Centennial School District, mostly at William Tennent
High School, where she received an Outstanding Achievement award for her service. At
McDevitt, F&P, and Tennent, she made friends she kept in touch with for the rest of her
life.
In addition to her husband, Bob, Alice is survived by her son, Rob Spencer, and his
wife, Laura Venturo, of Lafayette, Colorado (and their children, Leo and Frankie), and
her stepchildren Mark Spencer and his wife, Helene, of Warminster (and their children
Kristen, Shawn, and Erica, and grandchildren Lexie and Hayley), Debbie McKinney and
her husband, Ted, of Sewell, New Jersey (and their children T.J. and Matt, and
grandchildren Maddy, Molly, Carson, and Chase), and Dave Spencer, of Chalfont (and
his children Corey, David, and Rebecca, and grandchildren Hayden, Annie, and Molly).
