Andrew Catterall of Hatboro, PA, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was 89 years old. Andy was born in Philadelphia in1933 and he was the son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Catterall who emigrated from Scotland in the 1920’s.
Andy attended Germantown High School before enlisting in the United States Army and serving in the Korean War. Andy worked in the Textile Industry for most of his life and retired from Vicks Manufacturing in 1994 as a Warehouse Operator.
Andy loved spending time with his family, vacationing down the Jersey shore and hunting with his buddies. He was the best Pop-Pop and enjoyed watching all his grandchildren’s activities. Andy is in Heaven enjoying a cold beer with his best friend, Joe T. Andy is survived by his wife and best friend, Lucy Catterall (Smedley) with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Andy was the “Best Girl Dad” to Marie English (Mike), Lucy Chiaverelli (Tony), Kate Fretz (Kevin), and Jennifer Moyer (Andy). Andy left many footprints including his ten grandchildren: Andrew, Michael, Christopher, Nicholas, Nicole, Julianne, Rachel, Jonathan, Danielle and Sean. He was additionally blessed with seven precious great-grandchildren: Adrianna, Isla, Elliott, Rafael, Luca, Ethan and Anthony. Andy was predeceased by his brother, James and his sister, Isabel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Andy’s visitation on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. to 12 P.M. at Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro followed by his funeral service at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment is in St. John Neumann Cemetery located in Chalfont, PA.
