Barbara Jean Schultz (née Kujansuu), of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 19, 2025 at the age of 90. Born on December 18, 1934, in Chassell, Michigan, Barbara was the beloved daughter of Elma and Bill Kujansuu.
Barbara grew up in rural Chassell alongside her older sisters, Dolores and Charlotte, both of whom preceded her in death. They were later joined by her younger brothers, Glenn and Jimmy, who survive her.
In 1956, Barbara moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she met and fell in love with Albert Schultz. The two married and began a family, welcoming their first son, Albert, in 1958, followed by Timothy in 1960. In 1967, the family relocated to Horsham, Pennsylvania, settling in the Hideaway Hills neighborhood. There, they spent many happy years raising their boys in a close-knit community while remaining deeply connected to their loved ones in Michigan.
Barbara was resilient, resourceful, creative, and endlessly enterprising. Throughout her life, she pursued a variety of occupations - she trained as a hairdresser, sold planes at Wings Airport, worked as a home shopping representative in a drapery department, helped manage Al’s bag delivery business, held several office positions, and later found joy in sewing and selling beautiful doll clothes at local markets in Hatboro.
Above all, Barbara was a devoted and loving wife to Albert, who preceded her in death, mother to Albert and Timothy, and mother-in-law to their respective partners, Cindy and Denise. She was a proud, playful, and creative grandmother to Kristine, Max, Kendall, Amy, Jack, Harry, and Charly. She later delighted in her great-grandchildren Eli, Elizabeth, Ellyn, Sylvia, Vincent, and Zachary. Auntie Barb will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Friday, August 22nd after 9:00am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro and are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00am. Her interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.
Barbara was a passionate advocate for children’s rights and well-being. In her later years, she embraced life at Moreland Towers and her wider Hatboro community. So in lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to H.A.T. Packs, an organization that provides food to local children experiencing food insecurity - a cause close to Barbara’s heart. Contributions can be made HERE or by mail to H.A.T. Packs, 22 Harding Ave, Hatboro, PA 19040.
