Betty Hebert Obituary

Betty M. Hebert (nee Green) of Hatboro, PA passed away peacefully on September 22, 2020 at the Hopkins Center in Wyncote, PA. She was 57 years old. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Colin Hebert with whom she had shared over 21 years of marriage. Born in Wilmington, DE on February 21, 1963 she is the daughter of the late Betty Johnston (nee Strawbridge) and George Green.

The youngest of 6 children, Betsy spent her childhood living in both Newport and Dover, Delaware. After graduating from Dover High School, Betsy went on to nursing school at Delaware Technical Community College where she would become a licensed practical nurse. For over 30 years, she served the needs of many patients through her work in nursing homes as well as an adult day center.

Outside of work, Betsy had a love for her pets, the beach, traveling, and most importantly, her family. From early childhood, her deep love for pets continued to bring her an abundance of joy throughout her life. Her heart led her to rescue many cats and dogs over the years, giving them a warm and friendly home. The Delaware beaches always brought Betsy a sense of peace and serenity. From the calm shores of Lewes, to enjoying a slice of Grotto Pizza with her family on the boardwalk, the beach was her happy place. Betsy loved to travel, especially being Colin’s co-pilot on their many adventures over the years. From planned vacations to Maine & Massachusetts, to spur of the moment day trips, many family memories were made on the road. Many of those memories had the sounds of George Strait, Tim McGraw, and Reba playing in the background. In particular, Sammy Kershaw’s Love of My Life spoke to Betsy & Colin’s relationship. Betsy found a deep connection with country music and the stories that they told. The expansive collection of CDs and cassette tapes told the story of Betsy’s life. She shared this connection with her children, and the love of music and travel will always be an integrated part of their lives.

In addition to her husband, Betsy is survived by her three children, Stephen G. Fuguet and his wife Shannon of Willow Grove, Travis R. Fuguet of Hatboro and Jennifer S. Fuguet of Philadelphia, two stepsons, Michael A. Hebert of Holland and Phillip C. Hebert and his wife Rachel of North Wales, step granddaughter Samantha, and her two dogs Maggie and Rocco. She is also survived by her siblings, Earl Green (Susan), Patti Sudler, John Green (Joyce), and sister-in-law Mary Ellen Green, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her sister Beverly Collier and brother George Green.

A celebration of Betsy’s life will follow at a later date when family and friends can safely gather. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Bucks County SPCA, P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931,online at www.bcspca.org, or 215-794-7425.
