Carol G. Townsend of Hatboro PA passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025. She was 87 years old. Carol was the beloved wife of the late John I. Townsend with whom she had shared over 47 years of marriage. After John’s death, she shared 9 wonderful years of marriage with William Jefferis. She was born in Philadelphia the daughter of the late Victor and Gertrude Graefe.
Carol is survived by her son; John R. Townsend and his wife Kim, Deborah L. Townsend; two grandchildren, Courtney Brown and her husband Sam, Melissa Harvey and her Husband Andrew; two great grandchildren, Conner and Sophia Brown, and a step brother Gary Graefe. In addition to her parents and husbands, Carol was predeceased by a sister Lois, a brother Victor and a stepsister Sandy.
Carol’s family, her love for God and her prayer life were the most important things in her life. She was a member of the Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church where she loved being a part of the Love and Stitches group. She spent many years volunteering at Luther Woods Convalescent Center, supporting missionaries, and being a true Prayer Warrior. She also enjoyed the work and beauty of her flower gardens, and walking through her neighborhood.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11:00 am at Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 151 W. County Line Road, Hatboro, PA 19040. Her interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carol’s memory may be made to her Church mentioned above.
