Carolyn A. Dooley, of Horsham, PA, passed away peacefully on May 9,
2026, surrounded by the loving family she cherished so deeply. She was
the beloved wife of Thomas J. Dooley, with whom she shared 56 wonderful
years of marriage before his passing in 2013.
Born in Philadelphia, Carol was the daughter of the late Lawrence and
Mary Martin. Carol was the middle child with siblings Mary Jane and
Lawrence.
Carol lived her life with energy, faith, and humor. After graduating from
Nazareth Academy High School, she attended Misericordia School of
Nursing, where she earned her RN degree and began her career as an
operating room nurse. It was at Nazareth Hospital that she met the love of
her life, Tom. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and
devotion as they raised six children. Though she cherished her years
working at Nazareth hospital, Carol always said her favorite and most
rewarding role was being a mother.
Carol rarely sat still. She loved keeping busy in the kitchen baking cookies
and making her famous jelly roll. Whether cheering from the sidelines at
her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events or enjoying bowling, golf,
ice skating, billiards, sewing, long walks, and volunteering through her
church, she embraced life with enthusiasm. Her Catholic faith was the
cornerstone of her life, and her Rosary was never far from her.
She will be remembered not only for her devotion to family and faith, but
also for her warm smile, infectious laugh, and quick wit. Her sharp sarcasm
and playful sense of humor kept everyone on their toes and laughing until
the very end.
Carol is survived by her children: Patricia Morgan (Michael), Michael
(Cheryl), Donna Mangiaruga (Frank), Mark (Anne), and Andrew. She was
preceded in death by her son, Thomas (Annette). She was a proud and
loving MomMom to 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of
whom brought her endless joy.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, May 18,
2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.
in St. John Bosco Church, 215 E. County Line Road, Hatboro, Pa 19040. Her interment will
be private.
