It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Moore, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. David passed away on May 20th, 2024, at the age of 77, in Jefferson Abington Hospital, Abington, PA.
David was born on July 15th, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Samuel and Elizabeth Moore. A proud Vietnam veteran, David served his country as an Army Combat Medic with honor and courage. His dedication and service will forever be remembered and appreciated. After being honorably discharged he made a career in tool and die making, retiring from the U.S. Mint.
David's life was a beautiful symphony of love, music, and family. He found immense joy in singing with his a cappella groups, sharing his melodic voice and harmonious spirit with everyone around him. Fishing was another of David's passions, a serene escape where he found peace and connection with nature.
Above all, David was a devoted family man. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Moore, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Together, they built a family grounded in love and respect. David was the loving father of Patricia Charlton (David) and Kelly Forry (Dwight), who were his pride and joy. He was also the doting PopPop to Kayla, Delaney, and Dwight(DJ), who brought light and happiness into his life.
He is also survived by his loving sister Kathleen Watkins (Paul) and brother Richard Moore (Geraldine) along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers James, Samuel, Alexander, and Joseph and his sisters Anna Cogswell and Elizabeth Saloma.
David's kindness, caring nature, and warm heart left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His gentle spirit and generous heart made the world a better place for all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A viewing will be held on May 28th, 2024 at 10:00 AM In Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Rd, Hatboro, PA followed by a service to celebrate David's life at 11:00 AM.
