Derek K. Dominek, of Warrington, passed away on March 15, 2021 after a lengthy battle with COVID-19. Derek was the beloved husband of Sarah (Zieger) Dominek with whom he had shared over 12 years of marriage. Derek was born in Ephrata, PA, a son of Josef and Jerilyn Dominek.
In addition to his wife and parents, Derek is survived by his children, Zoe, Jackson, and Madison; a brother, Brent Dominek and his wife, Wendy; a brother-in-law, John Zieger and his wife, Melissa; and nieces and nephews, Zachary and Alicia Dominek and Hannah, Benjamin, and Nora Zieger.
Derek was a best known as a devoted husband and loving father. In his youth, Derek enjoyed being in the Boy Scouts earning the title Eagle Scout by making a trail for the visually impaired for his service project. In his High School years, Derek played football and wrestled. Derek earned his Bachelors of Science at Temple University becoming a medical coder. He worked for Main Line Health Systems for 12 years.
Derek enjoyed fishing, relaxing at the beach in Long Beach Island and Wildwood, playing darts, and cheering for his favorite football team - The Eagles. Derek was a beer connoisseur and loved sampling all types of beers. He loved helping out with his sons Boy Scout Pack and helped his son to build a prize winning Pine Wood Derby Car. Derek loved camping with his kids and had some awesome hide and seek skills. He enjoyed cooking and created some delicious meals for his family, including his famous Cowboy Stew. He will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Monday, March 22nd after 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in Schneider Funeral home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro. His Funeral Service will be private and can be viewed at the link below. His interment will follow at 1:15 pm in Whitemarsh Memorial Park Cemetery, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA. In lieu of flowers, in Derek’s memory contributions can be sent to the link below and will be donated to Lankenau Hospital for COVID relief.
