Donald “Don” E. Simpson II, 72 of Hatboro, PA passed away on May 24, 2026 at home after a battle with Melanoma. Don was born on August 2, 1953 in Los Angeles, CA to Donald and LaVonne Simpson. Don spent his youth in Azusa, CA and upon graduation from Azusa High School, enlisted in the US Army where he worked as a Communication Center Specialist in a unit stationed overseas in Japan and domestically at Ft. Meade. Upon leaving the military Don eventually settled into a long career as a machinist. In 2007, Don was received into the Roman Catholic Church, a faith that deeply enriched his later years.
In his youth Don developed an interest in playing the Cello. In his adult years Don was known by friends and family for his unique ability to fix or repair almost anything. Don used this special talent on countless occasions to help friends and family in need. Other hobbies of Don’s included his love of cars, gardening, woodworking, decorating for the holidays; but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, family, and grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as ‘Boppie’.
Don is lovingly survived by his wife of 28 years Janis (nee Rothermel), children Jennifer Skitsko (Miguel Bolaños), Brian Skitsko (Betsey), grandchildren Connor, Carson and Maggie. Don also leaves behind his brothers Larry Simpson, Eric Simpson (Bonnie), Bob Simpson (Tammy). He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Debbie Vagnoni (wife of the late Bob), Ellen Hargather (David) and Sheri Schick (Perry Ritaldato) and many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 215 East County Line Road, Warminster, PA 18974. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM with interment immediately following at St. John Neumann Cemetery 3797 County Line Road, Chalfont, PA 18914. If desired memorials in Donald's memory may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor Philadelphia, Holy Family Home, 5300 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143-4929
