Dorothea (Powell) Lisowski passed away on December 20, 2022 in Abington, PA. She was 75 years old.
Dorothea was born on April 13, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1964. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Dorothea was determined to have a career of her own. And after following her father’s advice that computers were the future, Dorothea completed a course in computer programming. She enjoyed a long career as a computer programming consultant to a varied and colorful lot of businesses over the years. Many were not just business associates they became dear friends.
Growing up Dorothea spent her summers at the beach in Sea Isle City, NJ. She loved the beach and enjoyed sharing fond memories of her summers at the shore. Dorothea loved books and reading, she was always in the middle of book. She was also an amazing crocheter, having learned at a young age, this was a lifelong passion that resulted in her creating beautiful blankets for her beloved family.
Dorothea, or Dot as she was affectionately known, is survived by her loving children: Brian Lisowski; daughter Andrea (Lisowski) Nolan; son-in-law Matt Nolan; her beloved grandchildren Brighid and Jared; sister Margaret (Powell) Fisher; and her many nieces and nephews. Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents John Powell and Margaret (Ebbecke) Powell, as well as her brother John (Jack) Powell.
