Edward Layton Obituary

Edward B. Layton of Perkasie passed away on December 29, 2022.  He was 86 years old.  Edward was the beloved husband of Gloria M. (nee Gamble) Layton with whom he had shared over 33 years of marriage.  Born in Philadelphia, PA Edward was the son of the late Winfield and Josephine Layton.

In addition to his wife Edward is survived by his loving children; Glenn Layton and  wife Janice, Lynda Milaccio and husband John, Ray Layton and wife Amy,  Joanie Davidson and husband Robert, Bernadine Buccafuri and Edward Sands, twenty eight grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and a sister Marilyn Powell and husband Bob.  In addition to Edwards Parents he was predeceased by three children, Holly Brown, Sherry Furchtenicht, and Denise DePalma, a granddaughter, Meagan Ward, and a sister Wynn Flack and her husband Bob.

Edward retired from Proctor & Gamble's Hatboro plant in 1994. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #427 of Newtown for over 50 years where he rose in rank and became Worshipful Master. He also was a member of RiverPoint Community Church in Cornelia, Georgia where he served as an elder, he served as president of the Currahee Mountain Camping club in Georgia and he was a proud member of the Fox Chase Gang (a group of friends he grew up with)  who meet frequently and travel together. Edward loved restoring old cars and using his talents in the trades to help his children out with building, plumbing, electrical, or any other work on their homes.  He also enjoyed the 20+ years he spent with his wife traveling across the United States and Canada in their motorhome visiting many state parks and national treasures and many friends and family

Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Saturday, January 7, 2023 after 12:00 pm followed by his Funeral Service at 2:00 pm in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro, PA.  His interment will be private.
