Edward Joseph McParland, 81, of Hatboro, Pa. passed away suddenly on Monday, December 15, 2025. Born on August 9, 1944, he was the son of the late John E. and Mary A. (Tracy) McParland.
Ed is survived by his children Sherry Williams (Mike); Edward Joseph, Jr; Colleen Carpenter (Cory); Kelly Ann Turner (Bart); and Debra Lynn McParland Reich. Grandchildren, Melissa Lynn McParland, Andrea May McParland, Megan Williams, Erin Williams, Katrina Carpenter, Charles Carpenter, Evan Turner; Great Grandchildren, Eniah Michele McParland, Azaria McParland James, Trinity Rose Stojinski, Rylee Rayne Stojinski, and Lincoln James Stojinski. Ed is also survived by his brother John McParland Jr. and sisters Mary McParland, Kathleen Eckert (Edward); Margaret McHugh (James); Patricia Halferty (Paul); and brother Thomas McParland (Cathy); and many nieces and nephews.
Ed was ambitious, fun loving, kind hearted, and generous. He loved dancing, singing, Rock and Roll, Elvis, and Cars. He had a massive Match Box car collection he proudly displayed in his Recreation room. Plumbing was his trade, with a career that started at age 17 working alongside his father. He worked locally for 45 years and retired in 2005 from Temple University Hospital.
Edward was a man of faith with a great devotion to praying a daily rosary to honor the Virgin Mary. His faith followed through as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus where he volunteered in various capacities and was especially proud to be part of the “Flaherty Players.” In 1983, he was awarded “Knight of the Year”.
Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 from 8:30 am until 10:00 am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro and are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. John Bosco Church, 215 E. County Line Road, Hatboro.
