Elsie DiTore (Sansoni) passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was the devoted wife of her late husband, Louis DiTore with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. She was born on January 3, 1928 in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia to the late Romano and Adelina Sansoni before spending the majority of her life in Horsham.
Elsie grew up on farms in Holmesburg and Warminster, where her parents instilled in her the value of hard work. In 1942 the family purchased what would become Sansoni’s farm, where she would spend the rest of her life. Her parents engrained in her a strong faith in God and love of family. Elsie graduated from Southampton High School in 1945. After graduation, she worked for Bell Telephone as an operator and eventually worked her way up to supervisor. In 1960, she met her future husband, Lou. They went on to marry in 1963 and have three sons. Elsie enjoyed spending time with family, attending daily mass, being an active member in the Saint Joe’s senior organization, bowling, and playing cards with her club girls. Most of all, Elsie loved being with her family. She enjoyed Sunday dinners with the entire family, providing a lot of love and cookies and ice cream, especially to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Elsie is survived by her three sons, Louis DiTore (Deborah), Robert DiTore (Jacqueline), and John DiTore (Eileen), her grandchildren, Nicole, Bobby, John and James, her great grandchildren Dante and Dominic, her sister and best friend Dorothy Poli as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her oldest grandson Michael (late husband to Rebecca), her brother Emidio (Mil) Sansoni, her sister-in-law Hilda Sansoni, her brother-in-law Dante Poli, brother-in-law Carmen DiTore, sister-in-law Mary DiTore, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Martha and Paul Manoogian
Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 after 9:30 am in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 1795 Columbia Avenue, Warrington, PA and are invited to attend her Celebration of Life Mass at 11:30am. A Christian burial will follow Mass in Saint John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael L. DiTore Small Moments Foundation, an organization created in honor of Elsie’s late grandson Michael.
