Eve G. Smith

Eve G. Smith of Hatboro passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving

family. She was 80 years old. She was the beloved wife of Bruce W. Smith with whom she shared 56

years of marriage after meeting at Gettysburg College. Eve was born in Norristown, PA the daughter of

the late Paul A. and Margaret E. Swank.

Eve was an avid reader and writer, having published some of her writings in the Yellowbook phone

directory. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Having been born an only child, Eve made it a goal

throughout her life to stay in touch with her extended family and looked forward to attending family

events, especially the annual family picnic. She will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul who always

put others first, loved animals and had a sweet tooth for chocolate.

In addition to her husband Bruce, Eve is survived by her children, Bethany Mira (Mohamed “Ed”), Becky

Kramer (David) and Andy (Frances), five grandchildren, Mitsu, Keshar, Alex, Matthew and Lauren. Eve

was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob.

Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Thursday, August 10 th after 10:00 am in St. John’s

Evangelical Lutheran Church, 505 N. York Road, Hatboro and are invited to attend her Memorial Service

at 11:00 am. Her interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eve’s name may be made to
