Frederick Smart Obituary

Frederick J. Smart, 85, of Willow Grove, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at

Luther Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved husband of Anna

Marie (Huber). The couple shared 63 years of marriage. He was born in Philadelphia,

the son of the late Helen B. (Russell) and Frederick S. J. Smart Sr.

After graduating from Northeast Catholic High School Fred joined the US Navy as an

Aviation Machinist’s Mate Third Class and was honorably discharged. Fred was an

Automobile Mechanic for most of his career at Sussman Lincoln-Mercury (Jenkintown).

For the last 15 years Fred worked for the Upper Moreland School District as a 1:1 Aide.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and was always known for his “outdoor

Illuminations” at Christmas time. In the early years Fred enjoyed camping, riding his

Harley, and relaxing at home.

In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by his children: Frederick Scott Smart (Cathy),

Joann Louise Porreca (Anthony), and Laura Kobeski (late Michael); Grandchildren,

Nicole Fine (Bill), Christina Rodriguez (John), Frederick Scott Smart Jr; Great

Grandchildren, Ahriella Rodriguez and Paige Fine.

Fred was preceded in death by both parents, his Sister Helen Teufel (Fred) and son-in-law

Michael Kobeski (Laura)
