Frederick S. Thomas, Jr.

Frederick S. Thomas, Jr. of Horsham, passed away on December 6, 2024 at Commonwealth Senior Living in Willow Grove, PA. He was 86 years old. He was the devoted husband of Margaret Thomas with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Frederick S. Thomas, Sr. and Eleanor Thomas (nee Purcell).

After graduating from Germantown High School, Fred began working at Western Union in Philadelphia, PA, where he served as a communications technician for over 34 years. During the years of November 1960 to July 1966 he served in the U.S. Army and Reserves. Fred enjoyed family vacations at the beach, traveling to the Caribbean and gardening at his house, where he especially enjoyed growing tomatoes. He appreciated many family traditions, amongst them eating crabs each summer. He loved all the Philadelphia sports teams and will be remembered for his sense of humor and as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Fred is survived by his wife, Margaret, of Horsham, PA, and by two sons, Douglas (wife Sharon) of Jamison, PA, Gregory (wife Christine) of Doylestown, PA, and four grandchildren, Samantha, Zachary, Sultan and Sergei.

The family will be having a private ceremony to honor Fred.
