Gary Evans Obituary

Gary E. Evans, of Hatboro, PA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at age 62. He was at his favorite spot, his mountain cabin, when he peacefully slipped away. Gary was the beloved husband of Karen (Gaydos) for over 36 years. In addition to his wife Karen, he is survived by two children, his son, Christopher of Ambler, PA and his daughter, Patricia (Trish) and son-in-law, Dylan of Honey Brook, PA; his sister, Joyce of Columbia, NJ; his sister-in-law, Ann Marie (David) of Flourtown, PA; and his brother-in-law, John (Dawn) of Oreland, PA. He was predeceased by his parents, Lincoln and Gladys Evans.

Gary was born in Abington, PA and grew up in the Willow Grove area. He was a graduate of Upper Moreland High School and Temple University. He worked most of his life in IT. He enjoyed Boy Scouts growing up and became a Boy Scout camp counselor during the summers at Resica Falls. He returned as an adult to Troop 3 of Hatboro where he assisted with many of their trips. He loved all things outdoors – camping, canoeing, hiking, tubing and spending time at the mountain house. He was also a DIY repairman and could fix and remodel almost anything in addition to being an excellent auto mechanic. Gary was always willing to lend a hand to help others whether they were family, friends, or strangers.

Gary was taken away much too soon and we will miss him tremendously. In keeping with his wishes, no service or memorial will be held. If you would like to do something, a donation can be made in his name to Boy Scout Troop 3 of Hatboro and mailed to 32 N York Rd, Hatboro, PA 19040. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
