George S. Robos, of Horsham, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021. He was 84 years old. George was the beloved husband of Marlene S. Robos (nee Scheibenhoffer) with whom he had shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Steven P. and Dimitra (nee Jim) Robos.
George's passions were skiing and horseback riding. For almost 50 years, he spent his winter weekends volunteering on the ski patrol at Camelback Mountain. He was committed to maintaining the highest level of first aid training and used his skills to help countless skiers. The rest of the year he liked to spend his Sundays on trail rides with his son, daughter-in-law, and friends. He worked as an automotive technician for most of his career, and his extraordinary talent for fixing things for friends, neighbors, and relatives earned him the nickname "The Wrench."
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Denise Giaccio (Chad), Steven Robos (Karen), and Diane DeSantis (Mark); five grandchildren, Erik DeSantis (Emily), Kyle DeSantis, Tyler DeSantis, Joshua DeSantis, and Jillian Giaccio. George is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his five sisters and two brothers.
Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Thursday, August 5, 2021 after 9:30 AM until the time of his Memorial Service at 11:00 AM in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro. His interment will immediately follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
