Hella M. Hein (née Knott), 89, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, in Hatboro, Pennsylvania.
Born on November 16, 1935, in Kitzingen, Germany, Hella embraced life with warmth and a deep appreciation for family, nature, and tradition. She found great joy in cooking, traveling, and tending to her garden. Her home was her sanctuary, where she welcomed loved ones with open arms and a delicious meal. She had a special fondness for wildlife and took great pleasure in feeding the animals that visited her backyard.
Hella was devoted to her family and cherished the time spent with them. She is survived by her son Wolfgang Hein and his wife Kim; their daughters Amelia, Emily, and Julia Hein; her daughter Evelyn Brey; her brother Alfons Knott and his wife Inge; as well as nieces Jutta Sauerhammer and Birgit Hofmann. She also leaves behind Jutta’s husband Gustl Sauerhammer and their children Julia and Maximilian Sauerhammer, along with Birgit’s children Daniela and Florian Hofmann.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Norbert R. Hein, as well as her sisters Marianne Knott and Lilo Kerzner. Also preceding her in passing was David Brey, husband of Evelyn.
A Funeral Mass will be held on March 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, located at 1325 Upper State Rd., North Wales, Pennsylvania, 19454. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park Cemetery, Ambler.
Hella’s kindness, love for nature, and devotion to family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
