Henry C. Schneider, Jr.

Dr. Henry C. ‘Hank’ Schneider, Jr. of Huntingdon Valley passed away on June 18, 2025. Hank was 84 years old. Born in Philadelphia to Henry Sr. and Anne Schneider, he shared 42 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marie.  

Hank graduated from William Penn Charter School, Williams College, and Duke University Medical School. He served proudly in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1969-1970. After his residency at Temple University, Hank became a urologist and surgeon and practiced at Holy Redeemer Hospital, Nazareth Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, and Chestnut Hill Hospital until he retired at 75. He was immensely devoted to his patients.

Hank loved to travel with family and friends, working in the garden (especially caring for his roses), and riding his bike on the Ocean City boardwalk. He was a life-long Philadelphia sports fan – cheering on his beloved Phillies, Sixers, Flyers, Union, and most especially the Eagles, for whom he was a decades-long season ticket holder. Attending a Philadelphia Orchestra concert or listening to a lecture at the Union League of Philadelphia were among his favorite ways to spend an evening.

In addition to his wife Marie, Hank is survived by his sister: Lynn; children: Kelly (Jeff), Bryan (Alissa), Drew (Casey), and Stephanie (Jeff), grandchildren: Charlie, Livi, Davis, Palmer, Ryan, Caleb, Elle, Tyler, Graham, and Samantha and nieces. He was a one-of-a-kind Pop Pop.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Hank’s Life at 11am, July 18, 2025 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Jenkintown. His internment will be private. Please join us in celebrating Hank by wearing bright colors or mismatched prints.
