James Gaughan, Jr. Obituary

James Francis Gaughan Jr. of Warminster PA passed away June 26, 2025 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 88 years old. James was born in Philadelphia PA. He was the son of the late James Francis Gaughan Sr and late Mary Agnes (Rowan) Gaughan.

Mr. Gaughan was a graduate of Norristown High School. He attended and graduated from St. Joseph’s University. After college he enlisted in the United States Air Force with an Honorable Discharge. James retired from Woods Services in Langhorne PA. He was a member of St. Cyril’s Catholic Church. He loved his family and his three cats. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, swimming, yoga and the tranquility of flying a glider plane.

He is preceded in death by his only son James Francis Gaughan III. He is survived by his sister MaryEllen (Gaughan) Trow and brother in-law James Trow Jr. Nephew James T Trow and his wife Salina (Nace) Trow. Great Niece Ashley (Trow) Adkins and her children Caroline and George. Great Niece Tiffani (Trow) Arcaro and her husband David Arcaro.


Funeral Services will be Tuesday July 8, 2025 at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison PA 18929. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing onTuesday, July 8, 2025 after 10 a.m. followed by his Funeral Mass at 11am. His interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Cheltenham Township PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James Francis Gaughan Jr name may be made to: Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust 2955 Edge Hill Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
