James J. McShane beloved husband of Anne McShane (nee. Hughes) passed away on Friday June 27, 2025. James was born in Philadelphia and was the son of James Joseph McShane and Clara Francis McShane (nee. Wisniewski).
James was raised in the East Falls Section of Philadelphia. He attended St. Bridget’s Elementary School and Graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1964. James was also a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. He Served on The USS Enterprise Aircraft Carrier and was stationed all over the Pacific. He was Honorably Discharge from duty in 1968. After the Military, James married and settled in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. He worked over Thirty plus years at SPS in Jenkintown, where he retired in 2012. James was an avid Philly Sports fan. The ‘60 Eagles were his favorite and a great topic for conversation.
In Addition to his Wife Anne, James was survived by his children, Kimberly Sheridan (Michael), Kathleen Chapin (Russell), James McShane (Theresa (nee. Musnuff)). He had 10 grandchildren, Ashley Pulcini (Keith), Sean Sheridan (Beth), Russell Chapin, Stacey Venango (Andrew), Meghan Sheridan, James McShane (Natalie), Nicole McShane, Elizabeth Chapin, William Chapin, and Kyle Sheridan. James is also Survived by 6 Great Grandchildren Illyanna, Peyton, Emily, Novah, Aelin, Jason and nora. He was the brother of Claire Roberts (Peter), Patricia Manzo (late John), Mary Romano (Vincent), John McShane (Louise), Joseph McShane (Ann), and Michael McShane (Barbara). He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Elizabeth Maloney and Brother- in-law Thomas Maloney.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday July 8th after 9:30 am at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 605 West Street Rd. Warminster Pa., 18974. Followed by a Mass at 10:30 am. His Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery at 3301 W. Cheltenham Ave Philadelphia Pa, 19150. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please give a donation to the charity of your choice in James’ name.
