Janet R. Elliott

Janet Elliott, 91, of Hatboro, PA passed away peacefully at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Elliott, Sr.

Born in Philadelphia, Janet was the daughter of the late James and Ida Ridge. She was a graduate of Frankford High School and Bucks County Community College. Janet was a preschool and kindergarten teacher for many years at Gloria Dei Preschool, and later worked for the Honeybee store in Huntingdon Valley. Janet was a member of Huntingdon Valley Women’s Club and held several offices throughout the years.

Robert and Janet loved to travel and spent many winters in southwestern Florida. They also liked to vacation in Ocean City, NJ, the Poconos, and on the Chesapeake with family and friends. Janet liked to meet weekly with her life-long close friends from Somerton United Methodist Church to work on “sewing” projects, which consisted of 5% sewing and 95% chatting. Janet was an avid reader who loved mystery and suspense novels.  She also watched the Philly sports teams, and would watch NASCAR to cheer Jeff (“My Jeffy”) Gordon on to victory.

Family was most important to Janet.  She loved being around her family and her family loved her immensely because she was caring, thoughtful, a good listener, a trusted confidant, and a lot of fun to be around.

Janet is survived by her children: Robert, Jr. (Pamela), Susan, and Patricia (John); grandchildren: James (Bridget), Courtney, Katelyn (Matthew), and Christopher; great grandchildren: Norah, Claire, and Connor.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 beginning at 11:00am at Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Rd, Hatboro and to attend her funeral service at 12:00pm.  A private internment for immediate family will be held earlier that morning.
