Janis H. Mahoney

Janis H. Mahoney, 91 of Horsham passed away at Sunrise, North Wales on Sunday, September 7, 2025.  Born in Elkins Park, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Helen (Mullen) Mahoney.

Janis was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy where she maintained lifelong friendships with her classmates up through present times. (73 years since they graduated.)  She started her career working for PSFS Bank and then moved to GMAC, a division of GM, where she retired from after many years of service.  Janis was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Church.  She was also a member of the church's Altar Guild coordinating scheduling and helped in preparing the linens for the Mass.  Janis enjoyed attending many theater performances with her friends at the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia.  Earlier in life she also enjoyed traveling, visiting places like Rome, Disney World and various Caribbean Islands.  Janis enjoyed sharing her life with family and friends which is seen with her longstanding friendships from grade school.

She is survived by her Sister-in-law, Sandra Mahoney; nephews; Raymond Mahoney and his wife Beverly, Kevin Mahoney and his wife Janine, Keith Mahoney and niece Kim Drybola and her husband Tim. Great nieces and nephews; Kyrsten, Shawn, Cierra, Ally, Sam and Madison.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald and sisters, Regina and Patricia.

Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Friday, September 12, 2025, after 10:00 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham, PA 19044.  Her interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Janis’ memory may be made to her church mentioned above.
