Jean Nice

Jean Nice, a resident of Philadelphia for over 80 years, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was 87 years old. She was the beloved wife for over 68 years to Robert J. Nice, Jr. Jean was born in Zirje, Croatia a daughter of the late Sime and Catherine Bilan.

Jean and her family moved to the United States when she was only 8 years old. She met Robert at age 15 years old at a local dance in Philadelphia and their journey through life began. Jean and Robert married and started growing their family tree. She loved her family vacations to the coastal beach towns of New Jersey and held dear to her heart time spent with her grandchildren playing and relaxing on the beaches. Throughout Jean’s life, she instilled on to her family the hard European work ethic she was taught at a young age.

In addition to her husband Robert, Jean is survived by her children, Robert J. Nice, III and his wife Beth and Donna Carrieri and her husband Frank, four grandchildren, Jillian and Frank Carrieri and Erica Stagliano Sutera and Nicholas Stagliano, and her two sisters. Jean was preceded in death by her brother Tony and by her daughter Doreen Stagliano.

Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Saturday, December 27th after 10:00 am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro and are invited to attend her Prayer Service at 11:00 am. Her interment will follow in Our Lady of Czestochowa, Doylestown.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s name may be made to the Autism Cares Foundation, 816 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966.
