Joan A. Amos of Warminster passed away on May 30, 2023. She was 89 years old. Joan was the beloved wife of the late Ronald I. Amos with whom she shared over 41 years of marriage. She was born in McAdoo, PA a daughter of the late Alex and Helen Sockolosky.
Joan enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with family and loved being a grandmother. She was an avid reader, adored her cats and loved anything bird related. She was involved in many community activities, trips and clubs. She was most proud that at age 72 she graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with two minors; in History and English and a Campus Scholar Award for having a 3.6 or better GPA.
Joan is survived by her loving daughters; Joan Wolf and her husband John, Eileen Conroy and her husband George, and Gwenn Amos and her husband Mark Street, grandchildren; Curtis Conroy and Allison Tessena and her husband Andy, and a sister; Dorothy Olson. In addition to her husband and parents Joan was predeceased by her brothers and sister- Joseph Sockolosky, Ceil Pensock and Alex Sockolosky.
Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 after 9:00 a.m., followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 West Street Rd, Warminster, PA. Her interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joan’s name may be made to Cat Tales Inc. P.O. Box 165, Warminster, PA 186974.
