Joan Alice Parker

Joan Alice Parker (nee Ritter) of North Wales, PA, formerly of Ridgewood, NY passed away on March 28, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was 89 years old. Joan was married to her beloved husband, the late Alonzo Howard Parker, for 54 years until his death in September 2004. Joan was born on November 1, 1933 in South Ozone Park, NY to Charles and Ruth Ritter (Reith). She was the 3rd of 4 daughters who were lovingly called “The Four Roses” by their Father. Joan’s sisters are Joyce Lenahan of Bristol, PA; the late Patricia Rouse of Levittown, PA; and the late Ruth Bennett of Fruitland, MD.

Joan worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Modern Materials In Flushing, NY and for Mark Bric & Co. in Glendale, NY. Joan enjoyed working in the kitchen at the Senior Center at St. Thomas Aquinas in Bristol, PA and playing Michigan Rummy with her dear friends there. Joan also loved reading and visiting different libraries in her area, making soups for her friends and neighbors and ironing. 

Joan is survived by her two daughters Allison Seit (Uli) of Queens, NY, and Denise Betz (Harry C.) of Hatboro, PA. Joan was predeceased by her son, Glenn Parker (Mary), in August 2015. Joan is survived by 6 grandchildren: Melissa Parker, Lauren Parker, Victoria Ammerata (nee Parker), Ryan Seit, Jennifer Gabert (nee Seit) and Harry Stephen Betz.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for Joan's visitation from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. immediately followed by her funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church, 505 N York Road, Hatboro, PA 19040. A luncheon will be held after the conclusion of the funeral service. Interment is private.
