John-Edwin M. Loftus of Hatboro died on Aug. 26, 2021, of glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer, which was diagnosed in March 2015. He was 70 years old. He was a newspaperman.
Mr. Loftus was born in Philadelphia in 1951 and resided in the city’s Kensington and Logan sections as well as in South Philadelphia. He lived briefly in Hopewell, N.J., and in Guilderland, N.Y. He moved to Hatboro, Pa., in 1982.
He was a journalist for more than three decades, working at newspapers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Among the papers that employed him were the Northeast Times in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Daily News, the Trenton Times, the Times Union of Albany, N.Y., the Home News Tribune of East Brunswick, N.J., and the South Philadelphia Review. While in college, he had worked as a Yellow Cab driver.
He was a 1983 graduate of Temple University, Philadelphia.
His parents, Norman T. and Elisabeth T. Bogschutz Loftus, are deceased. He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Susan Priante Loftus, of Hatboro.
