John R. Thygeson, Jr., Ph.D., of Hatboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 10, 2021. He was 97 years old. Born in Boston,MA, he was the son of the late John R. Thygeson, Sr. and H. Louise Prince Thygeson.
Jack was a professor of chemical engineering at Drexel University for more than 30 years, where he was highly regarded for his teaching. He was loved and respected by his students and colleagues who appreciated his wit and wisdom. He was a member of many academic honorary societies and organizations, including Tau Beta Pi.
Jack is survived by his sister, Karen Sheehan and her husband, Thomas of Timonium, MD, as well as his nephew, William Thygeson and his wife, Kathleen of Hatboro, with whom Jack lived in his later years. He is also survived by many other loving nieces and nephews. His sister, Dorothy Wilson of Northford, CT predeceased him.
