John D. Vogler

John David Vogler, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 18, 2021. He was 86 years old. John was the loving husband of Elizabeth “Bette” C. Vogler (nee Mansdoerfer), with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Anna (nee Sheridan) Vogler.

John worked as an electrician with SEPTA for over 30 years.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, David Vogler (Maryann) and Donna McCloskey (Joseph); his grandchildren, Kaitlin Angiolillo (Brian), David Vogler, Kristin Vogler, Kerianne Simmons (Walter), Joseph J. McCloskey (Megan), and Sean McCloskey; his 6 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna “Nancy” Suplee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends. In addition to his mother, John was predeceased by his siblings, Charles, Dorothy, and Paul.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend John’s Funeral Mass on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM in St. Cecilia Church, 535 Rhawn St, Philadelphia, PA 19111. His interment will be held privately.
