Joseph Clark Obituary

Joseph ”Joe” M. Clark of Glenside passed away suddenly on April 10, 2025 at the age of 68 and one day.  He was the beloved husband of Linda (Santopietro) Clark with whom he had shared nearly 34 years of marriage.  Joe was the son of the late Clinton and Edna Clark.

A native of Trevose, Pennsylvania, Joe attended Assumption of the BVM grade school, and graduated from Neshaminy High School.

His career took a winding path. After several years of working in a sheet metal shop, he was employed by IMS Americas where he worked in the traffic department.  He then moved to Thompson Reuters where he was a QA analyst tracking down bugs in software.  From there, he went to Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions where he was employed as a Data Analyst.  He liked to say that he had the ability to create order out of chaos.

Music was the second-greatest love of his life after Linda. In high school, Joe learned how to play bass because he felt it would be easier to learn a four-stringed instrument rather than a six-stringed instrument.  Also known as “Boom-Boom the Jam King”, Joe and his friends played in several local rock bands over the past fifty years including Choice, The Trevose Memorial Blues Band, Breakaway, The Flippin’ Jibits, The Sofa Bed People, The Numbskullz, The Dive Bar Cassanovas and Mental Block.  He performed in various venues including the Philly Cookbook, Knickers Bar, The Rosemore Pub, Guiseppe’s (Ambler), the Red Stallion and the Lawncrest July 4th Celebration, as well as family parties.

Joe was a fan of railroads and model railroading. Over the years, he and Linda visited several railroad museums and enjoyed many railroad excursions.  His photo albums include numerous pictures of locomotives and railroad structures.  He especially loved steam engines. Joe was keenly interested in the Pennsylvania Railroad and looked forward to receiving a Pennsylvania Railroad calendar from Linda every year at Christmas.

Joe will be remembered as a jovial and big-hearted man.  He was always willing to lend his time and his talents and never hesitated to reach into his pocket to help someone in need. His final request was that we all remember to be kind to each other.

In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by a brother Clinton Clark and his wife Dolores and a sister Fran Clark and her partner Deborah Woodell.

Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. followed by his Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m.  in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro, PA 19040.  His interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers memorials in Joe’s memory may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center
