Joseph Smith Obituary

Joseph P. Smith of Warminster, Pennsylvania passed away in his hometown with his family by his side, on September 28, 2023. He was 92 years of age. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace A. Smith (née Pestich) “Amazing Grace” with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, the loving eldest son of Clayton and Agnes Smith.

Joe was a child of The Depression, who was raised on the ideals of a strong work ethic, coupled with a “can-do” attitude that created the foundation of a successful family business which flourishes today. Joe & Grace embodied the importance of a strong family bond. Joe was always the first to offer his help and support to anyone in need. He was the proverbial “Salt of the Earth.” The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Joe, like a good glass of red wine, listening to Sinatra, and restoring & showing antique cars.

Joe is also survived by his six children and their spouses, Robert (Evelyn), Dennis (Cindy), Joanne Partridge (Bill), Brian (Karyn), Carol Zimmerman (Errol), and Gina Coia (Bob); fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Jeanne Trasatti (the late Edward), Agnes DiLanzo (the late Louis), Nancy Caruso (Sam) and Michael Smith (Marcy). He is pre-deceased by his sisters Rita Smith and Dorothy Maglio (the late Mike), and brother Gerald Smith (Rita).

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday October 3, 2023 at 9:30 am followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 585 Street Road, Warminster, PA. His interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Road, Chalfont, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 - stjude.org) or Tunnel to Towers Foundation (2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 - t2t.org
