Joseph Tryon Obituary

Joseph Engel Tryon of Hatboro passed away peacefully on October 28, 2019 at the age of 45 after complications from brain surgery.  He was the beloved son of his mother Sharon E. Tryon (nee Engel) and father Joseph J. Tryon (Malissa).

In addition to his parents Joey is survived by a loving family including his sister Jennifer Tryon Iaia and her husband James; half-sister Madison Tryon; nephews James and Benjamin Iaia; aunts Lee McCarthy (Mac), Lynne Heaton (late Ken), and Gerri Sauers (Pete); uncles Ed Tryon (Alicia), and Andy Cisco; cousins Karen Wenig (Ray) and their children Ryan, Kylee and Landyn Wenig, Allison Sanchez (Jay), Courtney Sage (Sean), John and Casey Sauers, and Jay, Tom, and Ben Tryon.

Joey graduated from Hatboro-Horsham Senior High School and the Automotive Training Center in Exton.  He worked for 22 years at Pep Boys in Warminster first as a mechanic and then as Assistant Store Manager.  Joey also served for 20 plus years with the Horsham Fire Company.

Joey loved car shows, fishing, country music, his “lil red express” truck, riding his motorcycle, and watching the food network.  Joey enjoyed and always looked forward to weekend visits with relatives Liz, Bridget, and Tommy in Delaware.  He also loved spending time with his dog, Gracie.  A big Philadelphia sports fan, Joey supported the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers and had all the sweatshirts and hats to prove it!

Joey had a big personality, was kind hearted, and made friends everywhere he went.  He enjoyed socializing with his large circle of friends including, but certainly not limited to, Rich and Jen Roberts, Pete Hansen, Ernest and Nicole Brown, and Susan Strickler and Brian.

Please feel free to wear your Philadelphia sports gear to honor Joey at his Life Celebration. Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Sunday, November 17, 2019 after 1:00 p.m. followed by his Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church, 300 South York Road, Hatboro. Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers memorials in Joey’s memory may be made to Project K9 Hero or Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church.
