Judith E. Reardon, 85, of Hatboro, PA formerly of Chesapeake City, MD, died peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2021. Judy was born on September 5, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Elizabeth and William Schmidt. She was married for 47 years to the late Michael D. Reardon who passed away in October of 2004.
Judy was an amazing woman who enjoyed life. She especially enjoyed raising her 5 children, directing high school plays, teaching CCD, being physically active and in her later years she enjoyed reading, knitting and word games and puzzles.
Judy was a registered nurse having graduated from her beloved PGH in the late 1950’s. She would do private duty nursing while raising her children and even was the DON at a small nursing home in Elkins Park.
Judy loved to volunteer. She spent many a day sorting through clothes and household goods at the Medical Mission Thrift Shop in Fox Chase, PA. Judy was also the Volunteer Coordinator for a number of years at the Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy in Philadelphia, PA. She loved working with the volunteers, clients and horses - it was her happy place. Judy remained in contact with many of the volunteers and they would share fond memories of their times at the stables.
Judy is survived by her two brothers, Bob (Mary Ann) Schmidt and Bill Schmidt, 4 of her 5 children, many grandchildren, great-grand children as well as nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Friday, August 13th from 10 AM - 11 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Warminster, PA. Burial will be later in the month in Chesapeake City, MD.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to: Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy 8297 Bustleton Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19152; or Saint Rose of Lima Church in Chesapeake City, MD.
