Karen Duncan Obituary

Karen Y. Duncan (nee Yergey), of Hatboro, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. She was 60 years old.  Karen was the loving wife of William “Pat” Duncan, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, she was the only daughter of the late Alfred and Dorothy (nee Strong) Yergey.

Karen was a Marketing Manager at Lincoln Investment, where she had a lot of friends and known for planning work events and trips. Whether for work or for pleasure, she loved to travel. One of her favorite destinations was Disney World. She prized the beach, especially Ocean City, NJ. Karen enjoyed reading and watching movies, particularly Marvel movies and reruns on the Hallmark Channel. She was known as the family planner- she loved to host parties for birthdays, showers, and her annual Thanksgiving feast. Karen was enamored with online shopping. But above all, she loved her family; her loving husband, her adoring children, her three brothers, despite their competitive nature, her extended family, including her nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as “Auntie Em”, and her dog, Downey.

In addition to her husband, Pat, Karen is survived by her two children, Michael and Brianna; her brothers, Ronald Yergey (Dorothy) and James Yergey (Naomi); her siblings-in-law, Kathleen, Jane, Mike, Joan, and Tom; her step-siblings-in-law, Catherine, Tom, Jim, Irene, and Joe; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Karen was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Yergey (his wife, Patty); a sister-in-law, Maureen; and step-siblings-in-law, John and Dan.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Please check the funeral home website for updates.
