Katherine L. Hirst

Katherine L. Hirst, of Philadelphia, passed away on June 24, 2021 at the age of 84.  She was born in Falls Township, PA, a daughter of the late Leroy E. and Katherine M. Hirst. 

A bird lover all her life, Kate cared for many cockatiels. A successful court reporter, she loved to travel and lived in several East Coast cities throughout her career, always calling Philadelphia “home.” As a young woman, she pursued modeling in New York City. Kate was a woman ahead of her time, living her life her way.

Kate is survived by a sister, Jo Anne Bowman, and her husband Joseph, and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Kate was preceded in death by brothers, Roy and William.

Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Friday, July 2, 2021 after 9:00 a.m. in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro followed by her Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m.  Her interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
