Kenneth R. Sweeney of Hatboro, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away October 21, 2019 at Sunrise of Abington. He was 89 years old.He was the devoted husband of Alice (Rinker), with whom he shared 23 years of marriage. He was born in Philadelphia, the son of William and Mary(Cleghorn), brother of late Florence(Costello) and William.
Kenny enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War, he was stationed in Alaska. He joined the Philadelphia Police Department after the war, working in the 5th district for most of his career, retiring early to care for Alice.
Kenny loved classical music and was very knowledgeable about the subject attending concerts by the Philadelphia Orchestra regularly. He and Alice traveled extensively visiting many beautiful places. Kenny was polite, kind,and generous man, always happy and smiling.
Kenny is survived by many nieces and nephews, who loved and cared for him. He was the fun uncle.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Saturday, October 26, after 9:00am In Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro and to attend his Prayer Service at 10:00 am. His Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
