Loretta A. Shugart

Loretta A. Shugart, of Doylestown, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Shugart with whom she had shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Annetta E. Pretsch.

Loretta devoted herself to volunteer work, which includes the food panty at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church which she was an 11 year member, a Cub Scout leader (Burholme), Benjamin Wilson Senior Center, Meals on Wheels and the soup kitchen at St. Francis in Philadelphia. Volunteering her time brought great joy to her and she was recognized for that with many Chaplin awards.

Loretta is survived by her two children, Pamela Simpson (Gregory) and Robert E. Shugart; three grandchildren, Shannon and Brooke Simpson and Alexander Shugart.

Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Friday, February 5th after 10:00 am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro and are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Her interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park Cemetery, Ambler.
