Lucy Mary Catterall

Lucy Mary Catterall of Hatboro, PA passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023
surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old. Lucy was born in
Philadelphia in 1934 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Smedley of
Germantown.
Lucy attended Little Flower High School for Girls before working as an Insurance
Clerk in Center City. Her next and most important job was to raise her girls. Lucy
went back to work in 1974 as a Lab Assistant at Vicks Manufacturing from which
she retired in 1994.
Lucy loved spending time with her family and vacationing in Cape May, NJ. Lucy
shared her love of gardening with her girls giving each of them the opportunity to
plant their own garden. She loved sewing clothes for their Barbies and her
granddaughters’ American Girl dolls. She was an avid reader and a lover of
crossword puzzles. Music was always playing in her house. She was the best
Mom-Mom and enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s activities.
Lucy is in Heaven reunited with her late husband, Andy. Lucy and Andy lived a full
life together over their 66 years of marriage. She was the proud Mom to her
girls…..Marie English (Mike), Lucy Chiaverelli (Tony), Kate Fretz (Kevin) and
Jennifer Moyer (Andy). Lucy left many footprints including her ten grandchildren:
Andrew, Michael, Christopher, Nicholas, Nicole, Julianne, Rachel, Jonathan,
Danielle and Sean. She was additionally blessed with seven precious great-
grandchildren: Adrianna, Isla, Elliott, Rafael, Luca, Ethan and Anthony. Lucy
pampered her fur babies, Midge and Winnie, who were always by her side. Lucy
was predeceased by her five brothers, Joe, Frank, Jerry, Harry and Eddie and her
sister, Marie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her colorful services on Thursday, July
20, 2023 at Saint John Bosco Church, 235 E. County Line Road, Hatboro, PA
19040. Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment
is in Saint John Neumann Cemetery located in Chalfont, PA.
