Margaret Mawhinney aka Peggy of Horsham Pennsylvania passed away on May 24, 2025. She was 87 years old and was the devoted wife of Frank Mawhinney who predeceased her in 2006 and shared 48 years of marriage. She was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Cyril Nawn and Ida Frith.
Peggy attended and graduated from Little Flower Catholic high school for girls. Upon graduation Peggy worked at several local businesses doing a variety of jobs. She was a waitress and hostess at a Philadelphia staple called Baffas. Peggy also worked as a secretary at some other places, such as Queen’s Casuals, a clothing store, and manufacturer. Peggy was also a homemaker who raised her two boys. She found her true niche in life when she started working for Leslie Miller and Richard Worley as a personal chef/assistant. She worked for Leslie and Richard for 35+ years and consider them family as they did her. Peggy was predeceased by her son Jerry (2021) and is survived by her son Michael and her seven grandchildren, Michael, Marra, Miranda, Maui, Maclain, Montana, and Frankie.
Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Monday, June 2nd from 5pm to 7pm in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro and are invited to attend Margaret’s Prayer Service on Tuesday, June 3rd at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home. Her interment will follow in Holy Seplurchre Cemetery, Philadelphia.
