Margaret “Peggy” Perkins of Hatboro, PA passed away at the age of 75 on June 29th after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Peggy was the beloved wife of 52 years of Gerald “Jerry” Perkins. She was born in Syracuse, NY to David and Anna Hosmer. Peggy was a 1969 graduate of Marietta College where she met a group of women that remain best friends today. After graduation she worked in banking in the DC area where she met Jerry. In 1976 they moved to Hatboro and Peggy became a full-time mom and served in various community activities.
Peggy was an avid golfer, having won multiple club championships. She enjoyed being active outdoors, especially skiing with her family. She was up for trying nearly any adventure and relished the challenge. She will be remembered as a spitfire with a quick wit and kind heart. She loved to do puzzles and play games of all kinds, especially with her grandchildren.
Peg is survived by her husband, daughter Kristin Mesires (Nick), her two grandchildren Jack and Naia Mesires, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and great-nephews and a legion of friends.
Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Sunday, July 9th after 1pm followed by her life celebration at 2pm in Schneider Funeral Home 431 N. York Road, Hatboro. Interment will be private. During her treatment Peg was especially moved by the young cancer patients she encountered and asked that in lieu of flowers to consider a donation in her memory to the Cancer Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
