Mark Bedara of Hatboro passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 23, 2023. He was 54 years old. Mark was the beloved husband of Eileen Bedara with whom he shared over 29 years of marriage. He was born and raised in Bayonne, NJ, a son of Dorothy Bedara and the late Gerald Bedara.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mark is survived by three sons Patrick Bedara, Brendan Bedara and Aidan Bedara, and his sister Peg (Al) Zwarycz. Mark was preceded in death by his brother James. The Bowman family will also greatly miss Mark, as will his nieces and nephews.
Mark was born the day the Apollo 11 crew landed on the moon and each birthday reminded Eileen and the boys with a “Did you know...?” Perhaps that historic event spurred Mark’s strong sense of curiosity and lifelong desire to learn new things. He attended York College of Pennsylvania where he met Eileen and graduated with an accounting degree. A true history buff, Mark collected a small, yet impressive, library and had a keen interest in the American Civil War. As a young husband and father, he was a member of the 69th PA Irish Volunteer Infantry, a Civil War reenactor organization. Mark was an accountant in his early career and in later years fostered an entrepreneurial spirit in starting an online retail business. Mark’s endeavors also included BBQ, cooking and baking, and boy, did we all reap the benefits as he honed his culinary skills. He was well known among the family for his Detroit style pizza and worked to perfect his recipes.
Mark’s greatest achievement was raising three loving and kind sons. A proud dad, Mark always found opportunities to instill values and share life lessons and advice as his boys became young men. Like his father before him, Mark taught his boys how to fish and crab and there are many happy family memories of such outings. Mark left us too soon and we are filled with sadness. However, those of us privileged to call Mark husband, father, son, brother, uncle or friend are truly blessed to have known and loved him.
Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Friday, December 1, 2023 after 9:30 a.m. followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro, PA 19040. His interment will follow in Hatboro Cemetery, Hatboro, PA.
