Marlene Meta Snarr of Horsham passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was 87 years old. Marlene was the beloved wife of the late John William Snarr, Sr., with whom she had shared 50 years of marriage. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, and was the daughter of the late Frank and Meta Kennedy.
Marlene is survived by her loving Children; John W. Snarr Jr. (Alicia) and Karen Lynn Stead (Christopher), Grandchildren; John W. Snarr III (Kelly), Christopher Charles Snarr (Jenni), Great Grandchild; Christopher “Buddy” Snarr and many loving Cousins and extended family.
After 40 years of teaching in the Hatboro Horsham School District, much of her career at Simmons Elementary, Marlene retired in 1998. She was passionate about spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed any time she could with them by celebrating, sharing meals, watching movies, or just talking. She also loved the many hours spent playing cards with the group affectionately known as the Golden Girls. Marlene enjoyed spending time in Brigantine, NJ with her family and her friends and her door in Horsham and in Brigantine was always open to all she knew and loved. Marlene loved dogs and will be missed by Dusty and Lily, her grand dogs, and Gracie and Muffin.
Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Saturday, February 10, 2024, after 10:00 a.m. in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro, PA followed by her Funeral Service at 12:00 noon. Her interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marlene’s memory may be made to Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church in Hatboro, PA.
