Mary Jo Lomas of Warminster, PA passed away on March 18, 2025, at 81 years old. Mary was born in Glenside, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Moffo. She resided in Warminster until the time of her death.
Mary was a devoted mother and wife, deeply committed to her family. She is survived by her son, George “GT” Lomas; his wife, Jenea; grandchildren, Abi Lomas and Thomas Lomas; her sister, Louise Fairfield and her husband David; and brother, Sal Moffo and his wife Carol. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, George H. Lomas; daughter, Maryanne Lomas; and son, William “B.J.” Lomas.
Mary's life was centered around her children and grandchildren. She helped her husband build and run Regimental Quartermaster while supporting her children in their various activities. Together, they traveled across the country for reenactments, always taking time to sightsee at parks and forts along the way. After retiring, Mary, Maryanne, and BJ embarked on a memorable road trip across the US, visiting famous landmarks in Chicago, the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, and the Pacific Ocean.
Mary cherished every moment with her grandchildren, attending their dance recitals, baseball games, hockey matches, and theatre presentations, always cheering them on with pride. Her love extended to her own cats and her fur grandbabies, whom she cared for and doted on.
Mary was known for her generosity and hospitality, ensuring no one was ever hungry around her. Her home was a welcoming place where everyone felt at ease. An avid Elvis fan, she had the pleasure of seeing him in concert and visiting Graceland (after a reenactment at Shilo). She also loved Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Flyers and Phillies. Gritty was her favorite mascot because he always made her smile. She knew all the Flyers players and didn’t miss a game – but she was known to turn off one or two. When she wasn’t watching sports, she enjoyed watching movies and shows on the Hallmark Channel. She also kept up with the British Royal Family and loved to talk about what they were doing.
Mary led a full, gratifying life, filled with the love of her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Saturday, March 29, 2025, after 1:00 pm, followed by her Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to come to her home, 731 Cypress Road, after the service for refreshments. Her interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary’s memory may be made to Bucks County ASPCA.
