Mary J. Rice

Mary Jane Rice of Cape May Courthouse, NJ passed away on Friday August 23, 2024. She was 85 years old. Mary was the beloved wife of John Rice. She was born in Warminster, PA a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Gamble.

She is survived by her loving children; Monica Garrano and her husband John, Jennie Lentz, Patricia "Patty" Stevens and her husband John, Mary "Annie" Hilton Walter Volz, Sarah Rice-Williamson and John Rice, 16 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, a brother; Owen John Gamble and his wife Grace, and Sisters; Shirley Serrill and her husband Andrew and Gloria Layton. In addition to her, husband and parents Mary was predeceased by a Grandson, James "Jimmy • Cogan, and brothers and sisters; Joe Matje, Jack Rent, Ann Stacey, Ed Gamble, Elizabeth Gramlich, Midge McGee and Joanie Gamble.

Mary loved Line Dancing, Crocheting, Sewing and including custom designing and applying sequins to Elvis Costumes. Mary also enjoyed playing and designing the costume for Mrs. Claus at the local VFW in Cape May Court House. She also designed and created unique Halloween costumes. She was always the "life of the party" at every event she attended.

Relatives and Friends will be received by her family on Wednesday, September 4th , 2024 after 11:00 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro, PA 19040. Her interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to V.F.W., 6 East Delaware Parkway, Villas, NJ 08251.
